Hello! Thank you for subscribing to my thought space—blog sounds too…bloggy—so I am going to refer to this as my thought space where I share and dissect different ideas and topics.
Some questions to consider…Why am I writing on this platform? What are my writing goals? What is this thought space even about?! Keep reading.
I am writing because I am always thinking. I need to think-dump (did I just make up a word(s)? Someone alert Merriam-Webster, please!). Okay, update —I looked it up, it isn’t a word, but it led me down the Google search rabbit hole to overthinking and anxiety plus overthinking, and it was getting too close to my daily realities and then my brain almost exploded. Back on track here…If you can’t tell I like to think and I like to learn, and I like to talk about thinking and learning, and sometimes that can be overwhelming (that was a doozy of a sentence—are you still with me?— and I know I said “and” about 20 times, relax—I’m an English major so I can do whatever I want with my conjunctions). My writing goals include the organization of thoughts, feedback and engagement from subscribers, exploration of “voice” (voice—as in the tones of my writing), and overall knowledge gain.
I am a Secondary English Education graduate student at George Mason University. I will graduate in December with a Master of Education. I received my undergraduate degrees in English and Communication Arts and Sciences with specific focuses in technical writing and rhetoric from Penn State University. WE ARE!
This thought space doesn’t say it ALL in the title or description: “Main Thoughts: Education, critical thinking, the power of language, and intelligent reads.” BUT it does provide some insight into the thought buckets I am going to cover, as I write and you read.
This space is about illuminating thinking through writing.
I plan to post every Friday. I WILL post every Friday. This is in an effort to keep accountability for me as a writer, and also for you as a reader. I would hope you are choosing to read texts that keep you engaged in a world that requires change, curiosity, critical thinking, and daily application of all those combined —more than ever. I also hope you choose to read texts that are fun and imaginative. Also why Kate, why Friday? Why would you send out something to READ on a FRIDAY?? I hope the thoughts I am writing about can stimulate thinking throughout your weekend and into the start of each week. Let my voice accompany you as you sip your morning coffee.
The more thinking we do—>the more learning we do, and the more learning we do the more good we can do in the world.
First content post coming tomorrow… stay tuned. Note—I want this to be a collaborative thought space, so I encourage leaving a comment if something sparks your mind.

Why has it taken me an hour to press the “Publish” button?? I’m nervous. I’m excited. And I hope there are no major typos. Here we go, sending it off. Happy thinking!
